Publishing Policies
JICLEP operates a double-anonymous peer-review process to support the fair, independent, and scholarly evaluation of submitted manuscripts.
Following an initial editorial assessment, manuscripts considered suitable for the journal are assigned to members of the Editorial Team with relevant subject expertise. Editors undertake peer review within their respective areas of expertise and, where appropriate, the Editor-in-Chief may invite additional independent reviewers to provide specialist evaluations.
Editorial decisions are based on scholarly merit, originality, methodological rigour, relevance to the journal's scope, and the outcome of the peer-review process. The Editor-in-Chief is responsible for the final editorial decision.
Members of the Editorial Team and any external reviewers are expected to maintain the confidentiality of manuscripts throughout the review process. Manuscripts should not be shared or used in any manner that compromises confidentiality or the integrity of scholarly review, including through the inappropriate use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) technologies.
PEER REVIEW POLICY
ARTICLE PROCESSING CHARGES (APC) POLICY
JICLEP is a Diamond Open Access journal.
The journal does not charge authors any fees for manuscript submission, editorial assessment, peer review, article processing, or publication. There are no Article Processing Charges (APCs), submission fees, publication fees, or access charges.
Editorial decisions are made independently of financial considerations and are based solely on scholarly merit, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, and the outcome of the peer-review process.
Any future changes to the journal's publication charging policy will be announced through the journal website before implementation.
OPEN ACCESS & COPYRIGHT
JICLEP is committed to the principles of Diamond Open Access. All published articles are made freely available online without subscription or access charges.
Authors retain copyright in their work unless otherwise specified within the journal's publication agreement. The applicable publication licence will be identified at the time of publication.
Requests to reproduce or reuse published material should be made in accordance with the journal's copyright and licensing policies.
AI & RESEARCH INTEGRITY
JICLEP is committed to maintaining high standards of integrity, transparency, and ethical practice throughout the editorial and publication process.
Submitted manuscripts are considered on the understanding that they represent original scholarly work, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by another publication.
Authors are expected to present their research accurately, acknowledge the work of others appropriately, and comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements. Where ethical approval is required, authors should confirm that the necessary approvals have been obtained.
The material use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of manuscripts should be disclosed where appropriate. AI technologies do not qualify for authorship, and authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, attribution, and integrity of all submitted work.
Allegations of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, will be considered in accordance with the journal's publication policies.
PUBLICATION ETHICS
JICLEP recognizes that generative artificial intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted technologies are becoming part of contemporary scholarly practice. Their use should support the quality, transparency, and integrity of academic research.
Authors should disclose the material use of AI or AI-assisted technologies where they have contributed to the preparation of a manuscript. AI technologies do not meet the requirements for authorship, and responsibility for the submitted work remains entirely with the authors.
Members of the Editorial Team and any external reviewers are expected to use AI responsibly while maintaining the confidentiality of manuscripts and the integrity of the editorial and peer-review processes.

SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE PROCESS
Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines before submission.
Each submission undergoes an initial editorial assessment by the Editor-in-Chief to determine its suitability for consideration by the journal. Manuscripts considered appropriate for the journal are assigned to a member of the Editorial Team for peer review. Where additional specialist expertise is required, the Editor-in-Chief may invite independent reviewers to contribute to the review process.

Where revisions are requested, authors should address the review comments before a final decision is reached. Acceptance for publication is confirmed only after the editorial process has been completed.
By submitting a manuscript, authors confirm that the submission complies with the journal's publication policies, including the disclosure of any material use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies during manuscript preparation.
