Artificial Intelligence (AI) Policy

The use of Artificial Intelligence (AI) and AI-assisted tools must be:

• Transparent

• Appropriate

• Consistent with the journal's research integrity and authorship policies

Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, and integrity of all submitted work, regardless of any AI tools used during manuscript preparation.

Submission and Acceptance Process

Manuscripts should be prepared in accordance with the Author Guidelines before submission. Submissions that fall outside the journal's scope or do not meet the journal's submission requirements may be returned to the authors prior to peer review.

Following submission, each manuscript undergoes an initial editorial assessment to determine its suitability for consideration. Manuscripts considered appropriate for the journal are normally forwarded for double-anonymous peer review.

Editorial decisions are based on the manuscript's originality, scholarly quality, methodological rigour, contribution to the field, relevance to the journal's scope, and the recommendations of the reviewers. The Editor-in-Chief reserves the right to make the final publication decision.

Authors may be invited to revise their manuscripts in response to reviewers' comments before a final decision is reached. Submission of a revised manuscript does not constitute acceptance for publication.

Accepted manuscripts proceed through editorial preparation before publication in the next available issue, subject to the journal's publication schedule.

Submission of a manuscript confirms that all authors have approved the submission and agree to comply with the journal's editorial and publication policies.

Publication Ethics
JICLEP is committed to maintaining the integrity of scholarly publishing through fair, transparent, and ethical editorial practices. Manuscripts submitted to the journal are considered on the understanding that they represent original scholarly work, have not been published previously, and are not under consideration by another publication.

Authors are expected to ensure that submitted manuscripts accurately acknowledge the work of others, present research findings honestly, and comply with applicable ethical and legal requirements. Where research involves human participants or other activities requiring ethical approval, authors should confirm that appropriate approval has been obtained.

The use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) or AI-assisted technologies in the preparation of manuscripts should be disclosed where appropriate. Authors remain fully responsible for the accuracy, originality, attribution, and integrity of all submitted work, irrespective of any AI assistance used during manuscript preparation.

Editorial decisions are made independently on academic merit, originality, relevance to the journal's scope, and the outcome of the peer-review process. Allegations of publication misconduct, including plagiarism, data fabrication, data falsification, duplicate publication, inappropriate authorship, or undisclosed conflicts of interest, will be considered in accordance with the journal's publication policies.
